Process flow and management demand specific climatic conditions. Temperatures are
typically maintained by applying a metal shroud over an insulating material. This
procedure isolates the product vessel or piping circuit from atmospheric weather patterns
and allows a constant for which product may be produced.

The benefits of insulated components are commonly overseen by the inspection
department. Restricting fitness for service by visual examination, Insulation will conceal
localized circuit discontinuities that can lead to production interruptions.

There are also concerns of external circuit damage. “Corrosion Under Insulation” is a
routine occurrence in which moisture is trapped against the component and damage
begins from the outer surface. Time becomes the essential factor when internal erosion
and external corrosion occur simultaneously in a localized area.

Complete removal of insulation for routine inspection is not cost effective. Consumable
expense, manpower for installation, and waste disposal can exceed area budgets and only
satisfy a portion of the required circuit inspection. Again, the inspection department is
forced to provide management justification of expense. The ability to physically view a
specific area has been made possible with the introduction of “Inspection Plugs”.

These Inspection Plugs have been designed with inspection demand in mind. External
corrosion, temperature, and thickness verification are made possible with a simple and
cost-effective solution.

Inspection plugs will not be detrimental or facilitate external damage when superior
design and installation procedures are followed. They are composed of an
aluminum/stainless frame and a -175F to +1200F degree silicone plug or excessive heat,
locking aluminum/stainless plug. The frames have an internal O-ring for weather
resistance, and are subjected to a proprietary expansion process which locks them to the
insulation substrate. The access device is attached to the main frame by a metal lanyard
to eliminate loss.

Installation technique and procedure ensures longevity. Insulation plugs offered have a
preformed manufactured flat or contoured surface. The insulation diameter is matched
by custom contouring of each individual frame prior to expansion. Stainless steel screws
thru manufactures supplied attachment points and siliconed base ensure weather
resistance.

Replacement components are available as necessary. Rubber components will dry in
normal atmospheres and loose their expansive or sealant qualities. We at
